I went to Amazon to purchase your book, but,……
almost all the reviews tell of the POOR quality of the printing.
Perhaps you (someone) should get in touch with the publisher and get that taken care of.
I can’t wait to read it!!! I will though, until I literally can read it.
Love your books.

Thanks so much for your email, and for taking the time to write. I was not aware of this problem, but have written the publisher, asking them to investigate. With all best wishes, Alan Bradley
Hello Mr Bradley,
Your writing is exceptional, just like Flavia. I’ve listened to the entire Flavia canon, multiple times.
They touch all of my emotions.
I hope you are well and working on another publication. I’m having Flavia withdrawal!
Best wishes and thank you for giving the world little Flavia. I want to meet her and give her a big hug. 😊❤️
I would like to say thank you to you and to your amazing stories. I have just finished reading all ten of Flavia de Luce’s novels, and what a joy it has been! I absolutely love your writing and have thoroughly enjoyed following your characters through their exciting mysteries and adventures.
Hi Alan, I anbsolutely adore Flavia. I have every one of them on Kindle & when ‘The Golden Tresses of the Dead’ came out, I left it for a whole week before I read it because I knew it would be a long time before there was another one.
When I find books that I love, I read them over & over again. I’ve read ‘The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie’ 9 times now. I start from the beginning & read them all again. My husband used to think I was mad, but there is always something new that can be gained from re-reading.
Will there be another Flavia book & , if so, when might that be? 2020 pleeeeeese??!!
Once the familiar title of “The Grave’s a Fine and Private Place” caught my eye on a New Fiction shelf at the library, I immediately read that one, then devoured the rest of the series except for Brinded. I’ve been saving that one (and now Tresses)for as long as I can stand it, because I feel that despite her short life thus far, the world will already be just a little bit dimmer once I don’t have any new De Luce adventures awaiting me!
I have recommended them to everyone I can for the last couple years, and I could not admire your flawless literary execution nor inspirational personal story more. Keep up the phenomenal work, and I hope you are enjoying every second of the ride!
I very much enjoy your Flavia de Luce books, and have finished them with number 10, The Golden Tresses of the Dead today. I do hope that you will write another!
❤️✝️✡️❤️
Hoping this finds you safe and well.
Every time I walk into the bookstore, I scan the shelves for a new Flavia release. I am hoping that Flavia will be back this year….we miss her stories! Maybe in 2022?
With gratitude for the joy your writing brings,
Sue
I have never been one for mystery books, but I adore the Flavia books so much. I’ve been reading them for nearly a decade and I recommend them all the time. Thank you for Flavia!
I have started another go-round of Flavia’s escapades. I am always awed by the tireless research you have devoted to historical events, places, and people found throughout Flavia’s adventures, and her keen intelligence; especially when she spouts these little gems for the sake of a simple pun. Also inspiring, is her command of the English language: proper, colloquial, and historical. I keep my tablet close at hand to look up her utterances and thoughts. This, along with her timely and remarkable wit, make her stories enormously enjoyable to read.
I am a few years junior to you, and I hope I have time left to wade through these yellowed and tattered pages a few more times.
Thank you so much!

I have never written to a novelist before, but I felt the need to let you know how much I love your writing. I have been an avid reader since I learned to read. I’m known as the person who stays up at night to finish a book I started after dinner. I did that very thing last night. Real life can be hard at times so I like to read books that are interesting, uplifting, and entertaining. I’m going to start over and read the Flavia books in order this time.
Best wishes to an amazing man. Deb from Stretch Island
I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of the series! I especially love the narrator you have for the series! She does a good job of bringing Flavia to life! Thank you so much for the series!
Thank you for inspiring me to keep writing, even in my rather late fifties, that it’s never too late to write as we are never to old to be inspired. In Flavia I am reminded of a younger self delivering newspapers in the 1970s, caught between the lies of the headlines, his neighbors, and his family. Thank you for that remembrance.
I’m so glad you have a place for reader comments here. I have recently found the Flavia books and want to thank you for writing them. They are so much fun! My eyes are not great, so I’m listening to the audiobooks but I have to say that I’m glad because Jane Entwistle is absolutely fabulous at bringing Flavia to life. I find it fascinating that a man can write as a 12-year-old girl and make it totally believable, and not just believable but wonderful to listen to. I love the way you write and I thank you for bringing this world to me. I am hoping there are more books to come, but if not, I plan on starting back at book 1 after I get through the 10 that are available (I’m on book 7 now).
Dear Alan,
I just verified that any new text from Flavia has been published recently. Could you please Tell her that Irena (45), her doughter Alena (15), Alena’ s brother (18), And the grandparents (76,80) Are all great admires od her And we all would be really happy just to read a short hello from her? Just to know that She goes well…
Caro dott.
Dear Mr. Bradley,
Flavia’s fans in the U.S. are suffering under the current regime- despite our current president’s efforts. Our Supreme Court is gleefully making the U.S. a dangerous place to live. If you can, please provide us some respite by giving us more Flavia.
As with many others here, I have devoured your Flavia de Luce books. I am now about to round out my reading with “The Golden Tresses of the Dead.” I’ve visited your site to see if there are any announcements of forthcoming volumes. I hope there soon will be.
All the praise you’ve received from others, I totally agree with! But I also wanted to comment on how well you explain science and chemistry to us, the readers. These were my poorest subjects in school (along with math!). I’m a literature person, not a science person. But the way you present and explain Flavia’s scientific and chemical endeavors almost makes me want to go to night school to figure out what I missed and might have learned if I’d tried harder all those years ago.
Keep up the wonderful work. I do hope we see more of Flavia in the near future. 🙂
Mr. Bradley,
Your Flavia de Luce books are so satisfying and fun to read. They bring me great joy. You’ve created a character with an intriguing personality, and a wicked sense of humor. I reread your books to enjoy her exploits.
I beg of you please continue this series! Make more adventures for her to have please.
This world needs more of her upbeat charm and enquiring mind. We need more Dogger and Gladys.
More, please!
Sincerely, Janet Aquadro
My home in Paradise California burned to the ground a couple of years ago. I just want to say thank you for your Flavia de Luce series that are old favorites of mine. In this time of recovery, they have been a comfort and cheer me up like old friends as I muddle through recreating my life. They were among the first items I chose to regenerate my library. With a friend like Flavia (and the internet), who needs hundreds of reference books anyway?
I know it’s late to be leaving a comment, but I have read all the books in this series and loved them. I got my sister reading them too and we have our own book club. Please, please, please tell me you plan on another book. We so look forward to them.
I read them over and over as well! I have a question about The Golden Tresses Of The Dead but cannot find the info anywhere online. If you would please message me at cindybounds2@gmail.com I would greatly appreciate it. I read or listen to them and am literally addicted. Thank you, Cindy Bounds
Hi. I’ve read all ten Flavia de Luce books many times and can’t find any other series that I enjoy nearly so much. I absolutely love reading and listening to them.
Thank you. Thank you for sharing your gifts of creativity, knowledge, and writing skills. Above all, thank you for sharing Flavia, her family, her friends, and her world with all of us.
Dear Mr. Bradley,
I am enjoying, “The Sweetness at the bottom of the pie” which is my introduction to your series. I intend to continue. I love your similes and feel right there with your characters and settings.
Alas, the seasons do go ‘round and ‘round after all. I’m getting old and I suppose Flavia is as well – at least too old to ride her bike anymore in the pages of her world. Mr Bradley, I so hope you’re enjoying your life and are having a well-deserved retirement. Thanks for all the wonderful years and work of creating Flavia for all her and your fans.
It is now 2024 and apparently no new Flavia books in sight. However, having 11 to re-read is surely enough for most people. They have been and will continue to be a delight to read and enjoy and share.
